Is this just a modem and registry tweaking application that supposedly improves my Internet speed?
Absolutely not. Miliki Dialup Accelerator is not another utility that adjusts Windows registry settings for optimal network performance. It uses a truly unique method of compressing the data you request before it is sent over the phone lines to your computer.

Does Miliki Dialup Accelerator speed up the retrieval delivery of email as opposed to just speeding up surfing?
Miliki Dialup Accelerator uses several patented and proprietary algorithms that greatly compress web pages and e-mail messages. Pictures and other graphic images are usually responsible for the most of the content size. The compression routines strip out a pre-determined amount of colors and pixels (the components that make up image files) to reduce the size of the image. This, in turn, reduces the overall size of the information being sent.

How does this acceleration application work?
As you request pages from the web or email from your mail server, the data is first routed to a compression server where it is quickly and automatically reduced in size. Once compressed, a lot more data can be sent over traditional wired (and wireless) telephone lines. When the information is received at your computer, it is automatically decompressed. Web pages and email messages appear as normal in either your web browser or email application. If you`re familiar with the concept of Zip compressed files, this is a good way to explain what is going on. However the zipping and unzipping process is behind the scenes and requires nothing of you to view web pages or email. Just to be clear, the proprietary compression used with the Miliki Dialup Accelerator is even better than the standard Zip format, which means superior acceleration.

What can I expect in the way of performance?
Miliki Dialup Accelerator compresses data to effectively increase the speed of your dialup Internet connection to five or six times the normal speed. The performance you see will vary depending upon each site you visit, the speed setting you choose, and other network factors.

Does Miliki Dialup Accelerator speed up my secure (HTTPS) transactions such as my web banking?
For security reasons, access to secure websites through Miliki Dialup Accelerator is not supported. The sites can still be accessed, however, no acceleration will occur.

How can I further improve Acceleration performance?
You can choose your speed setting. To achieve the fastest speed the compression routines strip out more from the images. This, of course, will impact the quality of the images. However, you will be surprised at how little the quality is impacted. You can choose to receive a little less speed improvement and improve the quality. There are 4 settings of speed / quality. By playing with these settings you should find a level of both speed and quality you can be comfortable with. Please remember you will still see good acceleration at any of the 4 settings.

How do I evaluate Miliki Dialup Accelerator?
Miliki Dialup Accelerator integrates a trial period that allows you to evaluate it to make sure it meets your needs. It is a fully functional service throughout the trial period. Each time you restart your computer, you will be reminded that you are running a trial version of Miliki Dialup Accelerator along with the amount of remaining time available.

Do you track my browsing habits and will additional advertisements and promotional marketing interrupt my browsing?
No and No! We have no way of knowing (or desire to know) the browsing habits of individual users of Miliki Dialup Accelerator. The only information that we log is overall server performance to make sure that everyone is receiving optimal acceleration service. We also do not incorporate any form of third party advertising within our software. Any additional forms of pop-up ads, banner ads or other types of promotional marketing will not interrupt your browsing other than what you would normally see while surfing the internet.

Can I run more than one Miliki Dialup Accelerator on one computer?
No. The client is programmed to run only one instance.

How can I get Miliki Dialup Accelerator?
Miliki Dialup Accelerator integrates a trial period that allows you to evaluate it to make sure it meets your needs. It is a fully functional service throughout the trial period. Each time you restart your computer, you will be reminded that you are running a trial version of Miliki Dialup Accelerator along with the amount of remaining time available.

You can Press the "Order Now" button whenever this screen is visible.

You can also access this screen by right clicking on the Miliki Dialup Accelerator icon in the system tray (usually on the bottom right side of your monitor).

Select the "Order Now" option.

You can also select the "Order Now" option from the Accelerator Settings button on the Internet Explorer tool bar.

After selecting through one of the above methods you will see the warning box indicating the number of days remaining in your trial period.

Press the "Order Now" button on this screen. A wizard will then step you through the process to activate your order of Miliki Dialup Accelerator.

Does Miliki Dialup Accelerator work with Netscape, Mozilla or Opera browser?
The only browser supported at the moment is Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater.

Will Miliki Dialup Accelerator work on Macintosh/Apple or other operating systems?
Not at this time. Currently, only the Microsoft operating systems are supported.

Will I need a license key and password to receive this acceleration service?
Yes. During the Getting Started process, you will be prompted for a License Key and Password. This will be necessary when installing and using Miliki Dialup Accelerator to connect to the compression servers. This information will only need to be entered one time. You can opt to save this information to prevent the need to re-enter it in the future.

Can I use Miliki Dialup Accelerator in a networked environment?
The Miliki Dialup Accelerator was designed to be used in an environment where access to the Internet is achieved via a telephone dialup connection (not a high speed LAN). If you currently use Microsoft`s modem sharing in a simple home-networked environment, simply install Miliki Dialup Accelerator on each computer that you want to achieve Internet acceleration. Currently, this application is not designed to work in a network environment that relies on a HTTP Proxy. However, standard Windows modem sharing should allow it to function normally.

Will Miliki Dialup Accelerator speed up the downloading of FTP files or NNTP newsgroups?
There is a standard uninstall procedure that will automatically remove Miliki Dialup Accelerator from your computer if you decide you no longer want it. Instructions are located in the integrated help file to walk you through the uninstall process.

Where can I go to see a list of known issues or problems with Miliki Dialup Accelerator?

What if I don`t want to continue to the trial of Miliki Dialup Accelerator or choose not to order Miliki Dialup Accelerator?

How do I enable or disable Miliki Dialup Accelerator?
From the Internet Explorer Toolbar, select the Miliki Dialup Accelerator icon. (If the Miliki Dialup Accelerator Settings button is not visible on your toolbar, click here.)

The Miliki Dialup Accelerator menu with the following options will be displayed:

To turn acceleration on or off, click on the appropriate option shown.

The accelerator has now been enabled or disabled according to your selection. The page will reload at the selected option - with acceleration or without.

How do I change the speed setting for a particular page?
The speed of browsing can be changed “on-the-fly” at any time during a browsing session. This is done by using the Speed Setting window. Double click the Miliki Dialup Accelerator tray icon:

The Speed Setting screen will appear:

Select the desired graphics quality level for viewing web pages by adjusting the corresponding slider. The sample image will change to reflect how the images will appear in the actual web pages.

How do I uninstall the Miliki Dialup Accelerator?
VERY IMPORTANT If removing Miliki Dialup Accelerator from a Windows 2000 Professional based computer, you must be logged in as a user with administrative rights for the uninstall process to be successful.
To uninstall Miliki Dialup Accelerator select the “Uninstall” option from the Miliki Dialup Accelerator selection of the Programs list.
An optional method of uninstalling is to access “Add/Remove Programs” from your Windows control Panel.
Highlight Miliki Dialup Accelerator and press the Add/Remove button.
Follow the on-screen instructions for the remainder of the uninstall process.
